ROB’S RANT: RENO RECEIVES FIRST WAVE OF REFUGEES FROM THE CONGO THIS WEEK

RENO TO RECEIVE FIRST WAVE OF REFUGEES FROM THE CONGO THIS WEEK

September  7, 2016

The Obama administration has approved the resettlement of 95 refugees from the Congo this week in Reno Nevada. The first wave will begin arriving this month, then the balance over the next twelve months. They will each receive $1,125 from the Federal government as their initial cash assistance and they are eligible for welfare and food stamps.

That is already on top of 2,800 refugees resettled in Clark County annually , according to Catholic Charities.

The real question is, why are we bringing more poor people from the third world into the U.S. when we have so many of our own poor people in need right here in Nevada? Have we taken care of all the homeless in Nevada? Have we taken care of all the poor in Nevada? Have we taken care of all the Veterans on waiting lists in Nevada? Perhaps when we take care of all the people in need here, then we can start helping people around the world.

Let me make this clear, my heart breaks for these people, I wish we could help everyone in the world in need, but that is just not possible.

It is immoral to take tax dollars from Americans and use those resources to import more poor people rather than help those here already in need.
